Dileep whose real name is Gopalakrishnan, is one of the most successful actors in Malayalam films. He started his carrier as a mimicry artist and had small comedy roles in films. The film Sallapam was a turning point in his career, where he graduated to serious roles.His comic timing and dialogue delivery in films like Panjabi House, Kalyana Sougandhikam, Ee Parakkum Thalika etc. made him very popular among the Malayalee audience, and he rose to stardom with his later films like Joker, Meesha Madhavan etc. However, the actor is yet to prove his abilities to handle a wide spectrum of characters other than comedy
